BOAT SHUTTLE

Shuttles are auxiliary weaving elements that contain the yarn to weave. The shuttles are inserted in the open- shed of yarn for interweave the weft yarn and made up a fabric. 

Artelaio proposes tree different version of this tool, responding to the specific needs of the weaver and related to the type of loom. The rigid shuttles are combined with small looms and require a manual unwinding of yarn. Boat shuttles use the yarn rolled on a cylinder that spin moving the shuttle. These shuttles combine a manual and a mechanical method. Finally the fly shuttles have wheels that allow an easy and quick passage through the lease- shed of yarn warp.

The shuttles are made in benchwood. The boat and the fly shuttles are transparent varnished.
